A Heritage of Hardwork and Growth
ORIMAN started in 1974 from the pioneering ideas conceived on a small office table by CAPT. ROSENDO C. HERRERA, a seasoned sailor and visionary.
With ingenuity and resourcefulness, our founder then worked virtually as a one-man company. After a while, family members and close friends assisted him. Capt. Herrera’s able leadership and loyal handpicked colleagues proved to be instrumental in acting upon opportunities for growth. At the same time our company maintained focused attention on each principal.
The result is a company sensitive to the special needs of its clients and quick to respond to industry changes.
From humble beginnings, our company’s growth was unhampered during the trying times of the last two decades. In fact the company was able to send an increasing number of sailors in the mid-1990’s despite the regional economic turmoil.
To date, Oriman continues to deploy seafarers aboard various vessels. In addition, reserve crews are available for deployment. From a single office table in its early years, we now have expanded to a sprawling office compound and training center housing people who carry with them the heritage of hardwork and dependability.

ORIMAN sets the standard in quality. Our name has been associated with efficiency and effectiveness in the management of our Quality System. Way before the ISM code’s scheduled implementation, we already operated under strict compliance to documented procedures certified to be ISO 9002 compliant by the ISO-QAR, National Accreditation and Certification Bodies of the United kingdom, since 1995.
We have intensified our Commitment to Excellence by upgrading our Quality Management System to attune ourselves to ISO 9001 – 2000.
We are proud that through our efforts to uplift the welfare of Filipino seafarers, we have garnered the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency Top Performer Award in 1994, 1996 and 1997. A Citation was also presented to ORIMAN in the year 2002 by the POEA in recognition of our company’s initiative of developing the overseas employment industry, thereby assuming a bigger role in promoting the competence of Filipinos and creating employment opportunities for Filipino seamen. A SPECIAL COMMENDATION in the year 2005 was also given by the POEA, for our company’s exemplary welfare programs and allied services for the interest, well-being and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers.
ORIMAN is also a recipient of the AWARD OF EXCELLENCE given by the PHILIPPINE OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT ADMINISTRATION in the year 2002 and recently in the year 2005.
